South Carolina

With school still in session for over two more months(!) we decided we needed a little warmth, relaxation, and good cousin fun to help us make it through June. SO, the girls and I drove down to South Carolina to visit the Holmes family. The highlights were enjoying the warmth and scenic parks and playgrounds, our long day playing at the beach, seeing real. live. mermaids. at the aquarium, and, of course, lots of time playing and just being together.

Funny anecdote about the mermaids: It really was AMAZING. Two mermaids swam and danced and waved and smiled for 20 minutes in a HUGE tank filled with HUGE fish and sharks and the like. The girls were mesmerized, as was I, apparently. Once, when the mermaids were waving and smiling, Melissa caught me grinning and waving back. "You know they're waving to the kids, right?"

It was a great trip, one we look forward to making again soon.

They don't look freezing, amazing! Beach trips are so much more fun when the kids are not freezing after 20 minutes of playing in the water!

You know, Brynn did the mermaid thing for a while in Vegas. Pretty cool how they do that I think! And so much fun for the kids....and us moms too!!!!
