...and that makes me a little sad.
We had a great summer, filled with swimming and park play and friends and treats and family, and even some chores and school work. We were busy, the good kind, and mostly healthy and mostly happy. The girls played and played and played, as it should be. We got babysitters and went on dates. We enjoyed later nights a later mornings.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from summer.
Brian worked hard, as always, but we enjoyed lots of play time with him in the evenings and on the weekends. I love this picture of him and Kaia - they are relaxed and happy. We were playing at the splash pad, eating lunch, and it was just one of those perfect afternoons.
This is probably my very favorite picture. It encompasses everything summer was for these two this year: sisters, warmth, fun, and relaxation. This picture looks planned and coordinated, I know, but it is not. I bought the towels years ago, the swim suits at the beginning of the season. After a long time swimming, Zoey came and pulled out her towel. As happened frequently this summer, little sister Kaia quickly followed suit, even mimicking the way big sister was laying. I snapped the picture, and every time I see it, it makes my heart super grateful and happy.
The girls begged to have a lemonade stand to earn money for a trip to Disney World. (They had NO idea we already had a trip planned and booked.) They loved their little business and we thought it was pretty cute.
I love this hard-working husband of mine. He really is amazing. Here we are at Los Sarapes, a restaurant we frequented often this summer thanks to pregnancy cravings of yummy Mexican food. I like that we look happy because we are. We are happy because we feel blessed, and I am so grateful for those peaceful feelings.
Is it June again, yet?
