the one with toe fuzzies and breaking points

I was pretty patient this morning when Zoey refused to wear the first three outfits I picked out for her.

I was still pretty patient when she insisted on sharing my bowl of cereal instead of eating her own bowl of the exact same cereal.

When Zoey asked to wear her rain boots, which are too big, in the absence of rain today, I patiently complied.

I thought I was patient at the store when I waited for her to line up 13 toy cars on the counter, and then put them all back in the bin one by one, even when another customer cut in front of us in line.

Patience was still present when Zoey peed all over her pants and underwear in a public restroom because she would not allow me to help her on the potty.

And when she wouldn't listen when I asked her to put away the toys at the library? I patiently helped her to do so.

And the crazy lady other mother at the library who insisted we wait until the end of her children's hour time slot on the computers in case they wanted to "jump back on," even though they were now reading books and not sitting at the computers? I loudly told Zoey we needed to patiently wait our turn.

But when we got home and Zoey insisted I clean out the black sock fuzzies from between her toes? That was my breaking point today. I may have refused. Maybe in a raised voice. I may have even threatened a time out. Toe fuzzies were my breaking point today. Ugh.

OOh boy. Seriously, you were very patient for a very long time. I'm sure I would have lost it several steps before you did. Don't be too hard on yourself. But if you happen to have the key to patience, do tell!

I feel you, sister. For me last week it was spilled milk and tripping over a trumpet that put me over my breaking point. Do you think they'll remember the good stuff? I sure hope so.

I think I would have lost it much sooner. . . especially if I were 9 months pregnant.

I'm sure Maya has never even noticed her black sock fuzzies between her toes... thank goodness!

You went to the store? AND the library?
You ARE a good mommy!

I LOVE to hear what makes my mommy friends break. This one is priceless, Dalene!!! For me, the breaking point is almost always a result of something noisy. My intolerance for loud behavior surely stems from my being raised an only child...I should have stayed at your house more frequently.

I would have lost at the pee. I hate wet pants!

I am with Allison, wet pants are ALWAYS my breaking point.

(What is with the crazy lady at the library... PLEASE! I bet she had something to do with the neikid statues. Weirdo.)

Kudos to you for making it that far. I think sock fuzzies would be anyone's breaking point. I am in fear of the amount of patience I will have to develop as a mom.
